Spice up your new year with festive flavors

New Year’s traditions differ around the world, but many cultures celebrate with foods traditionally thought to ensure luck in the coming year. In South America, for example, people eat 12 grapes at midnight to receive 12 wishes and good luck; they drink champagne with a gold ring in it to welcome good fortune; and they drive away negativity with loud, cheerful shouts or fireworks.
