Georgetown’s very own food park

Food trucks: Austin has them, but did you know Georgetown does, too? Park your car and step up to the windows of the food trailers at San Gabriel Food Park for fresh-made, delicious foods you can eat on the spot or take with you.

Spill the beans:   The trucks are tucked behind Sonic and Aqua Blast Car Wash at 402 W. Morrow Street. You may not have known they were there, but the venue has been open a little over two years. San Gabriel Food Park is Georgetown’s best-kept secret, but the vendors want to get the word out!

Fill ‘er up!   With easy access from downtown and I-35, San Gabriel Food Park is the perfect place to grab a quick bite. Five trucks currently serve cuisine ranging from good ol’ Texas BBQ and tacos to carnival fare and Cuban empanadas. Negotiations are in the works for a Thai food truck and a soft-serve ice cream truck.

When can I go?   Each truck has its own schedule. Check with your favorite truck for hours, but you’ll usually find one open for breakfast tacos and another for that late night hankering. Don’t miss local musicians playing their songs on the weekend!

Seal of approval:   Full House BBQ has the seal of approval from Georgetown mayor Dale Ross: “I ate at Full House BBQ and the brisket was truly amazing. . . . I am going to try the ribs next time.”

Georgetown resident and The Daytripper host Chet Garner agrees. “Really impressed by Full House BBQ . . . and their homemade jalapeño cheese sausage,” Chet gushed recently on Facebook. “It ain’t easy making your own sausage, but my taste buds sure appreciate it.”

Give the San Gabriel Food Park your own seal of approval. Swing by and take a bite from every truck!
