Hamilton Pool Preserve in real life
I’d only seen Hamilton Pool Preserve in photographs—until I made the drive and the short hike to see it for myself. Ducking through thick vegetation on the trail and stepping over and around rocks, I came to a small stream—merely a hint of the beauty ahead. Beads of sweat dripped down my face as I neared the end of the humid path and began to hear the rushing 50-foot waterfall. Finally, the trail brought me to the collapsed grotto. The sight of the waterfall and the clear green water almost took my breath away. Suddenly, I was no longer hot, and the mere sight of the pool through my lens brought the feeling of a cool, refreshing breeze, just like the crisp air in October, after a hot summer.
